Building & Maintaining Self-Esteem in Children
Building Children's CharacterWe take an active and deliberate teaching of desirable behaviors on both cognitive and behavioral levels to increase the self-esteem of group participants.

Self-Esteem affects virtually every facet of our life. It is how highly we value ourselves. It comes from collective thoughts, feelings, and experiences we have had and continue to have about ourselves throughout life.

People with high self-esteem usually express their feelings in their behavior as well as in an openness to learn and grow from life's lessons. They are more able to meet and solve the problems, stresses, and responsibilities of life with confidence.

Teens - Becoming My Personal Best - Choice & Accountability
Teens - Becoming My Personal BestTeens learn that when they are accountable, they take responsibility for the choices they make. Perhaps the choices were not the best choices; maybe they made mistakes, They may not have found out enough information about the choices ahead of time as they could have, or there were too many factors they could not control. Still, the choices were theirs. They need to take responsibility and learn from the experience.

This workshop is for youth ages 13-16. Youth workshops are a recurring event - a different topic every 6 weeks.

The Empowered Girl
Adolescent Girls Program
We're Changing The World One Girl At A Time!
The adolescent years provide an opportunity to prevent the onset of problems and change patterns of behaviour that have not been firmly established. Intervention allows for the introduction and enhancement of social and coping strategies that can have a lifelong impact on adolescent girls. This empowering prevention/intervention program is to help girls develop a lifelong perspective about living as a female in society, provide protection from negative sources of influence, and a lasting base of information for girls transitioning from adolescent to adult life.

Adolescents' Mental Health Needs: Girls Invisible Problems:

It is important to recognize that girls in today's society face a myriad of problems-many of which have the potential to become serious life issues.

The female adolescent in our society is particularly susceptible to what may be described as a group of "invisible" or "inwardly directed" problems including (but not limited to) depression, eating disorders, and poor body image. Although these problems may be less noticeable than delinquency, they are quite serious, and many teenage girls are in dire need of services and help. Because these problems are easily hidden, girls who require assistance may successfully conceal them until they have reached a very serious level.

If we want to help young people, we need to pave a road for them that is easy to follow and will lead to a successful outcome. A social support group makes the prospect of receiving support more plausible since it is easier to acknowledge and address problems with the mutual support of others.

By providing The Empowered Girl, we can build a community that is more responsive to the needs of adolescent girls.
