History
Jennilyn Fiddler developed Family Empowerment Program in 1999 to support families and individuals through life's daily challenges. With additional training, the Mediation Services was implemented in 2001. The goal of the company is to make a positive difference in people's lives through counselling, interactive workshops, and transformative mediation.

The family Empowerment & Mediation Services is an independent organization dedicated to enriching the lifelong development of families and individuals. This is accomplished by providing relevant, accessible services that focus on personal empowerment. Family Empowerment & Mediation Services is committed to integrity, respect and fairness in each of our relationships with individuals, schools, and community.
Philosophy
The Family Empowerment & Mediation Services believe that youths, families, individuals and groups have the right to access services they believe will impact their lives positively and lead to personal empowerment. All individuals involved with our services are partners in problem solving that will lead to healthy personal or professional and interpersonal development.
Values
To create an atmosphere of trust and care in which people can find the solutions they desire. With a belief in the dignity of all people, individuals are treated with the courtesy and respect they deserve. The right to privacy is of utmost importance; therefore strict professional standard of confidentiality is followed. Discussing personal problems can be difficult; every effort to deal with these feelings will be dealt with compassion and patience.
Family Empowerment & Mediation Services is dedicated to quality, effective services, is sensitive to the changing needs of individuals and society and seek to develop programs that are responsive to changing needs of youths, families, individuals and society.
About the Professionals
Jennilyn Fiddler B. Ed./Psy, R.T., E.C.E, F.Med., is the President of Family Empowerment & Mediation Services. She has over twelve years experience working with children, youths, and families. Jennilyn has worked as an Executive Director at Churchill Chums School-Age Program; Instructor (part-time) at Seneca College in the Early Childhood Education Department; and Behaviour Specialist for Toronto Parks & Recreation. She designs and delivers practical interactive workshops for children, youths, parents, and for schools, community organizations and businesses.
Jennilyn has hosted a radio talk show program called Womyn’s Word at CHRY 105.5 FM Radio, where she used her knowledge and expertise to interview and lead discussion on topics that relate to women. She has been a guest on Joy 1250 AM Radio, and on Rogers Television.
All practitioners at The Family Empowerment & Mediation Services are trained professionals with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the family services field. Using a cognitive-behavioural approach, The Family Empowerment & Mediation Services offers prevention and intervention through its family enrichment education programs. Counselling, mediation, and workshops are designed to support individuals and families through life's challenges.
Customized workshops and programs are also available to school and community groups on request.
